International

Education is becoming increasingly global. We've developed strong relationships with overseas institutes and agents and offer exciting study abroad and internship experiences for students.

The International Development Team(external link) is responsible for managing our relationships with international partner institutes and agencies.

Study Abroad

International students from around the globe can study at NMIT as part of their home university’s study programme. Study Abroad(external link) students are integrated into regular classes with local and other international students and have the opportunity to study for one semester, a full academic year, individual course modules or as part of a study abroad and internship hybrid programme. Our students also have the opportunity to study overseas with our partner institutions.

Internship Programme

For many years, we've been organising unpaid internship placements in leading local businesses for overseas students and graduates. Interns gain valuable hands-on international business experience, improve their English and gain a unique insight into Kiwi culture while local businesses benefit from having young, keen and highly skilled international staff.

China is a vital trading partner for New Zealand and we're proud to have developed close links with several Chinese universities(external link). We also have a Confucius Centre on our Nelson Campus and run Chinese language classes.

Agents

We partner with a worldwide network of recruitment agencies to provide educational opportunities for students from around the world and to help enhance the internationalisation of NMIT’s campuses and the communities we serve. We welcome applications(external link) from education agents wishing to represent NMIT in New Zealand and abroad.
