Kick-start your career in the Logistics and Distribution industry by learning a range of work-ready skills.

If you want to kick-start a career in Logistics and Distribution and gain employment opportunities within a warehouse, distribution centre, or manufacturing operation this new Primary Industries qualification will get your future started.

Industry recognised and hands-on, 12 weeks of part-time learning will ensure you gain the entry-level skills and knowledge to provide you with employment opportunities.

On-campus learning will be held on the Marlborough Campus one day per week, 9am - 5pm.

This qualification is targeted at new or potential entrants into Logistics and Distribution including school leavers, career changers and those not yet engaged in education, employment or training.

You will learn skills and knowledge to contribute safely and effectively in the workplace including:

  • First aid
  • Safe work practises
  • Operate a forklift in the workplace
  • Stock handling - inwards goods, storage and dispatch
  • Ability to complete the necessary documentation

You will also have the opportunity to gain the following four unit standards and practical skills:

  • Manage first aid in an emergency situation
  • Provide first aid
  • Provide basic life support
  • Operate a powered industrial lift truck (forklift)
