Gala lunch becomes reunion for ex-NMIT students

A group of participants at a new member gala lunch organised by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) in June this year, discovered they all had something in common: they studied at NMIT!

There was a strong delegation from Findex at the event, a nationwide firm offering accounting and business advisory support across the motu, many of whom are ex-NMIT students.

The ex-students spanned over three decades at NMIT, from 1987 to 2018. Some have returned to NMIT as staff members.

The industry relationship between NMIT and Findex was initially built by Sue Malthus, a senior academic staff member who has since passed away. The Sue Malthus Memorial Cup is sponsored by Findex annually to the business programme at the value of $500.

Yolande Tzinavos, Manager of Findex Nelson, says the firm has a long-standing connection with NMIT.

“We look forward to continuing our close relationship with NMIT business school”, says Yolande.
